sidelatIt is overwhelming to try to pull together every factor for a successful fitness regimen. As with any major goal, you must break it down into manageable parts, or smaller goals. Upon completing each smaller goal, you eventually realize the big picture of fulfilling your long-term, major goal. Do NOT try to do it all at once! That is a quick way to be self-defeating. Instead, start with one facet of change and once that becomes a habit, like brushing your hair or taking a shower, add the next element. Small steps may take you longer to the finish line, but you will be more likely to have better long-term results because of it. After all, your body and life did not get out of control overnight and you should not unrealistically think you can change it that way. If there was an easy fix or magic pill we would all be supermodels!

bicepcurlWhen you go off track (and you will, because you are human) do NOT stress and beat yourself up or quit. Forgive yourself and get back on track where you left off and keep going! You will find that you will go longer spans of time in between such bouts until you are almost on autopilot. You must crawl before you walk and walk before you run. NO excuses! “Doing” is ALWAYS better than NOT doing anything…always!

Think positive! Envision yourself as you want to be. Your body, mind, and spirit are strongly linked together. Once you learn to utilize these and other resources you will attain new and improved results and build a strong chain of changes to reach your goal!
